Boutique B&B Getaway
With a bit more.
Casa de Ámbar
Welcome to Casa de Ámbar – a small family-owned B&B on the outskirts of Alhaurín el Grande, Costa del Sol, combining the tranquility of the countryside and the proximity of vibrant coastal towns and beautiful beaches.

We are located 30 minutes from Málaga International Airport, and Málaga’s bustling city centre, as well as the sandy beaches and lively streets of Benalmádena and Fuengirola, and the upmarket surroundings of Marbella and Puerto Banús. There are other beaches on the coast if you prefer a more laid back vibe. Around an hour away you will find the stunning Caminito del Rey and the breathtaking city of Ronda.
For golfers, the Seve Ballesteros designed Alhaurín golf club is 10 minutes away, while the world famous Real Club de Valderrama and Finca Cortesin, host of the 2023 Solheim Cup, are just over an hour.
The roads of Málaga province and Andalusia in general are popular with cyclists and usable year round, although we do actually get rain from time to time.
Our rooms
Our B&B has five bright, comfortable, double, en-suite bedrooms with private entrances. Each features a queen sized bed, which can be separated into twins in some of the rooms.

About the area
This part of Malaga province has been settled by humans since Neolithic times, although the name Alhaurin was given to the area by the Moors. They saw the strikingly fertile valley, overlooked by the Sierra de Mijas mountains, and fed by the Guadalhorce and Fahala rivers, and called it Al-haurin, or Allah’s garden. El Grande was added afterwards, to distinguish Alhaurín el Grande from its (almost identical twin) sister town, Alhaurín de la Torre.
Nowadays, the area is renowned for its produce, mainly olives and citrus fruit, and is a mix of managed farms and wilder forests and hills. Alhaurín el Grande itself is a charming and bustling, working town of around 24,000 people. Much of the architecture in the town centre is traditional Andalusian, especially to the west of the town centre. Alhaurín has plenty of good restaurants and bars catering to all tastes.
